People weave
superstitions around events that they cannot explain, and nothing makes them
more superstitious than when confronted with death.
Because death was
fairly common in ancient times, our ancestors had to pay close attention to the
warning signs. Here are some Kapampangan superstitions which are at least 100
years old, culled from H. Otley Beyer's 1916 collection of
folk beliefs.
